Increasing prices for plastic web foils mean continually increasing demands on the technologies applied.  Until only a few years ago aluminium heat seal foil with rather limited print design was used.

Today, in addition to aluminium, multi-layer foils and also multi-layer plastic foils (for example: PET) with complex print designs and minimum thicknesses are in use. The demands on the applied technologies have increased.

Sealing electrodes with cartridge type heaters are often installed in the sealing station. This technology has been in use now for more than 20 years.

   -   Your experience has shown that this area has the largest influence on the quality of the
       sealing.
   -   Our experience has shown that, according to the system in place, the temperature can vary
by more than 20°C during operation.

Our goal here is to limit the temperature variation during machine operation to a maximum of 5°C. In addition to the design of the drive system, this is the basis for a trouble-free heat sealing.

Our sealing electrodes are composed of the following parts:
   -  contour plate
   -  helical heater, positioned directly above the sealing contour
   -  cover plate

Each part can be replaced separately.

Servo drive technology

We recommend the installation of servo drives for the sealing station and in particular for the pre-drawing of the foil. With our compact linear drive units it is possible to have servo-driven profile movements on almost all machines designed originally with pneumatic movements for example.

The advantages are:

   -  possibility to modify the sealing station on the majority machines
   -  consistent movement sequences
   -  reduced energy requirements (no compressed air)
   -  reduced maintenance
   -  no extra lubrication

We can of course provide complete stations as an alternative to re-conditioning.
